Fall Magic

Hello. How are you? After a lovely breakfast with my dear friend, Amy...and nap-time happening as we speak...I find myself with some quiet time. So, I thought I better get around to sharing some of my Fall pictures with you before Winter is upon us! We are lucky enough to have a beautiful little forest at the back of our yard. On the edge of this peaceful wood is a gorgeous Japanese Maple tree. I love this tree and often find myself staring out the window at its elegant branches and delicate leaves. In the Fall it is truly magical; lit from within as the the autumn sunlight pierces the cold green shadows of the woods. Its leaves like tiny flames perfectly formed and glowing...

Pumpkin Patch Visit

Hi there my friends! How are you? I hope you are enjoying Fall. We have had a glorious, sun filled October, so of course, a visit to the local Pumpkin Patch was in order! I captured some shots of Claire among the piles of pumpkins. The autumn light has been so very pretty! Grace, thankfully, jumped into the last one too! (She was very busy visiting with all the animals on location so it was hard to pull her away!) pumpkin5 edit

After a little hunting, we found four lovely pumpkins. One for each of us. Of course, we also managed to go home with fudge, fresh pumpkin donuts and homemade berry jam. Yum! I didn't grow up going to a Pumpkin patch for Halloween but I'm happy this has become a sweet tradition for our family.

What traditions do you have in your family for this time of year?

Enjoy the rest of the week.

Ivy

P.S. I am still working on my Brené Brown homework. I will be sharing it with you soon, I promise. By the way, her book = TOTALLY life-changing!

Pumpkin Patch Delights

Hi there. We are back from Texas and I'm happy to be home.

Before our trip, we went out to a pumpkin patch and had a perfect Fall day.

Thought I would share these pics with you before Halloween is over! Time is seriously going too fast...

I have to admit this was my first visit to a pumpkin patch and well, I was kind of enchanted. Highly recommend it.

Have a beautiful Thursday.

Gorgeous Nature Photography by Georgianna Lane

Hi friends...hope your Monday is going well. It's bright and sunny here, after a weekend of rain. The trees look so lovely with the morning sunshine on their leaves. So as you can probably tell...I am still completely enamored with Fall and when I came across these dreamy visions by Seattle photographer, Georgianna Lane, I knew I had to share them with you...

Aren't they gorgeous? She does a whole series entitled "The Poetry of Trees". I think I may have to collect them all...

Please go wander through her Etsy store. It's a true delight. She also authors a lovely blog...here.

Hope these images brought some beauty to your day.

Golden leaves at my feet

I took these pictures the other day outside my friend's home. Autumn, to me, is a magical season. A time to watch the mastery of nature's brush, while preparing for the colder days to come. To plan, dream, consider, ponder and reflect. After the spontaneous energy of Summer, Fall feels quiet, thoughtful and comforting. The golden leaves, both at my feet and overhead, dazzled my eyes; the sapphire sky, the perfect contrast.

Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower. ~Albert Camus

What do you love about this season?

I hope your path is paved with golden leaves.

As Fall approaches...

Rain is blowing in as I type this - Portland is due to be gray for the next two days. A prelude of what is to come. A new season is approaching and I'm actually excited to greet it. Tomorrow, I start my blogging class and I'm so thrilled. Grace goes off to school. Chris to work. Me and my computer are going to cozy up and get some work done. I hope.

As I daydream of what might lie ahead...I found myself thoroughly enjoying these beautiful images by Cedric Bihr.

Simple, serene and set with the hues of autumn, I had to share...

I'll let you know what my homework assignment is tomorrow. If only I had been this excited about homework when I was a kid!
