Meet Monica

My work is a culmination of years of learning and exploring any and all mediums. Working intuitively is one of my favorite ways in which to create, letting the paint lead the direction of a piece. Not all of my work is created in this way, I also like to work in a tighter fashion, concentrating on details and adding special accents to my pieces, like gold foil or ink.

I work predominantly in watercolor because I enjoy the spontaneity of the paint and the ability to work in a more controlled way, it really provides me with the best of both worlds. The themes of my artwork always include a touch of spirituality, nature and animals, especially the winged creatures and sometimes the human ones. My desire is that my work resonates with my audience on an emotional level, and that it provides them with the same healing and hope that it provides me while I’m creating it. I believe that art can be a catalyst for more compassion, love, healing and magic in the world and I will continuously strive to represent these themes in my art.
