iPad Art Overdose

Hello all! I hope you are well! I've been very busy finishing up my work for the Studying Under the Masters III class! I've learned so much from being Marie Laurencin's virtual apprentice!

In between shooting videos, editing and being a mom, I sneak in time to create art on my iPad. I don't always have the luxury (or time) to pull out all my art supplies and spend hours creating but my iPad gives me the art hit I need with no mess, no waste and it's simple to put it down and tend to my responsibilities (a two-year old who constantly needs snacks) and then pick it right back up and keep making art. Here are some of my most recent creations...

I've really enjoyed doing some of these whimsical portraits with animals...

And some self portrait fun using my own photography...

And even doing some landscapes/cityscapes and more experimental stuff that I don't usually do...

this one I made entirely on my iPhone...

If you happen to have an iPad or an iPhone consider playing with some of the many creative apps available. Using the power of technology is an amazing and powerful way to explore art, your creativity and further develop your style and composition with NO risk! Don't like something - Just click UNDO. Gotta love that! ;)

The apps I recommend are Procreate, Repix, icolorama, Brushstroke, DistressedFX and Stackables. There are many others but these are my favs right now.

Much love to you! Keep creating!

More iPad art.

Hello! How's your Thursday going? We've got a lovely rainy day here and I'm sitting in my office with a cup of tea and my favorite candle lit. Yum. Oh and I'm totally obsessed with this crazy soft blanket. It's wrapped around me...even though it really isn't all that cold. I've turned into a bit of a Linus with this throw - you will often see me dragging it from room to room so I can cuddle up with it. lol. Happiness-Is-A-Warm-Blanket-Charlie-Brown-Linus1-532x298

My husband thinks it's bizarre and Grace keeps trying to steal it but I'm very protective of it.  Look...just get one and you'll understand. I promise.

Anyway...I digress. I'm here to share three more creations I made on the iPad. Yes, I'm totally hooked on the creative fix this gives me. I used this process if you want to go back and read about how these were done.

three graces

" The Three Graces"

(Was feeling a little more edgy when I created this one... ;)

desire

"Hummingbird's Nest"

you are beautiful

"Kindred"

Making these all cozy in my bed after a long day has proved to be relaxing and rewarding. Will this replace my traditional art processes? No, but when I'm short on time and energy (which seems like always) this helps me feel connected to my creative energy.  Try it out and let me know if you have questions. I'm here to help.

Creating art on the iPad

Hi there friends! I know it's been quite a while since I last posted but this summer has been so busy! A few days ago, I actually got the chance to sit quietly with a cup of coffee and watch another video from my class with Jeanne Oliver. This time she was exploring the power of creating artwork digitally on the iPad using an application called Procreate. Being a Photoshop lover, I was skeptical but I'm so glad I watched because Procreate is surprisingly addictive, easy to use and quite robust. I began to create small digital illustrations on my iPad and have been obsessed ever since.

Here are a few pieces I have created already...

I have been having so much fun making these. It's amazing to create art while on the go. Stay tuned, I will be breaking down the process of how I completed this last piece very soon - complete with some handy tips and tricks!

Hope your week is going well.
