Hello my creative friends!
Come join me for this one week Mixed Media & Encaustic workshop where we explore the beauty and subtlety of white and neutral tones.
When we strip away color - texture, contrast and ultimately design and composition come to the forefront. We will focus on these artistic aesthetics as we complete three beautifully unique projects.

Here's a description of each of our special projects:
Project 1 - The Zen Abstract Collage
Using various collage materials and even 3-D objects we will create a “Zen” like abstract collage with paper and encaustic wax. Learn about the fundamentals of composition and push yourself outside your comfort zone as we leave the world of representation behind. The key in this project is aligning elements, creating visual tension and harmonious balance.
Project 2 - The Lady in White
We will study Whistler’s famous painting - Symphony in White I and create our own Lady in White portraits using mixed media. My materials of choice will be acrylic paint, charcoal and soft chalk pastels.
Project 3 - White Horses on the Horizon
This horse themed painting will be all about texture, repetition, pattern and shape. We will be collaging, painting, stenciling and finally using a layer of cold wax and oil paint to create a dreamy, misty and textural finish on this gorgeous mixed media landscape.

Check out my simple wax set up in this video.
See that wasn't too scary right? Trust me...you will adore this dreamy medium!
