Hello my bird-loving friends!
This online mixed media and encaustic workshop will explore the magic, grace and beauty of birds!
When I look around my studio, I notice how many bird images and sweet stray feathers I have lying about. Birds appear in my work all the time, so I was inspired to create a class all about them!
We will be completing 4 main projects as well as several studies and exercises. These finished creations would make beautiful gifts for loved ones and friends too!

Who is this class for?
This class is for anyone who loves birds and who loves ART! Since most of the projects are collage based there is no need for a ton of drawing and painting experience. However, experienced artists will also enjoy these beautiful projects as well.
I will be guiding you through several techniques such as sketching with ink and charcoal, collage, painting over collage, image transfers, stenciling and incorporating vintage papers, paint application, creating layers with wax, fusing and much more! Over 6 hours of video, plus tons of info, resources and access to my curated image gallery.
Encaustic Wax
For those who haven’t worked with encaustic wax before, I assure you it is not as scary as it sounds and proves to be a very appealing medium, one that my past students have fallen in LOVE with!
Check out my simple wax set up in this video.
See that wasn't too scary right? Trust me...you will adore this dreamy medium!
Also remember - Take your time with the videos! You have lifetime access - so enjoy every minute and set your own pace. Connect with me and other students on our private Facebook page and have access to my favorite image resources and links to essential supplies.
